Youth Foundation!

 

The mission of the Maynard Jackson Youth Foundation is to build the foundation for youth today to become leaders of tomorrow. Through the signature program, the Leadership Academy, metropolitan Atlanta high school students learn the skills and principles of leadership, critical thinking, entrepreneurship, community service, and how to prepare for their continued education and careers.

For 20 years, the Leadership Academy has trained more than 330 youth. More than 98 percent of the Leadership Academy alumni are either pursuing a post-secondary education, gainfully employed, or serving in the military. The 20th Leadership Academy class is currently in session with 34 high school juniors from 10 high schools in the Metro Atlanta, South Fulton, and Clayton County areas – our largest class to date. We also have 25 high school seniors from our 2011 Leadership Academy class that we are continuing to work with as they prepare for college.
