As our duration in China came to an end; I wanted to note the differences from China and America. The first difference was the language. As we boarded our 14 hour flight headed to Beijing, the flight attendants on Air China spoke very little English. We entered into a nation who’s main language was Chinese. This language difference would continue to appear throughout our trip. The next difference I noticed was the transportation. Their streets where filled with scooters, bikes, and motorcycles and it seemed to outnumber the amount cars on the roads. I would like to note that Atlanta’s road rage has nothing on China’s. Lastly, a major difference that I can not overlook, is the food. What we think of as “Chinese food” is the exact opposite of actual Chinese food. While dining we saw familiar names such as “Sweet and Sour Pork” or “Fried Rice”, but these dishes were completely different from our dishes here in America. Each time you ate something, it was a surprise, sometimes it was a delightful one other times it was dreadful.
