My Chinese Experience: Round Trip

Exploring Henan China was a blast. It’s rich with an ancient and riveting culture. Encompassing the truth spirit of China, Hanban and the Confucius Institute offered Maynard Jackson Youth foundation participants an opportunity to take a sneak peek into the everyday lives of its inhabitants and introduced us to mysteries and rituals witnessed only by those who truly appreciate the Chinese tradition. Whether we engaged in Chinese calligraphy, participated in a Chinese tea ceremony, or rehersed a kung fu boxing routine with well trained kung fu artists, Henan Province in China truly left a lasting impression that accommodates my elation for international travel and studies. With this level of exposure and experience I plan to broaden my horizons by going to college to study international relations and foreign language so that I may study abroad my freshman and sophomore year in China as well as other countries of interest.
