One of the attractions I was most looking forward to seeing in China was Tiananmen Square. After doing a project on the Tiananmen Square Protest, I was instantly intrigued by the history of this place. While in China we visited this attraction and our tour guide have us background on the place itself. She told us how Tiananmen Square, also known as the forbidden city was a place where no one could leave or come in. She told how there were I believe thousands of rooms and how it was one of the largest squares in the world and it could hold over 500,00 people.
It was also interesting to me that when the background about the square was given, the protests were left out. This showed how quiet that aspect of the square is kept in China. I mean it is also blocked for searching on the internet. The Forbidden City was an amazing thing to see in real life for me. I will forever cherish my experience there.
